David B. Vasily, MD
Our supervising medical physician, David B. Vasily, M.D., FAAD, was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology degree, with honors from Moravian College, magna cum laude. He obtained his medical degree from S.U.N.Y at Buffalo School of Medicine. Following his internship at Allentown Hospital, he completed a dermatology residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. Dr. Vasily is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is a well known dermatologist, who has also served as founder and president of Lehigh Valley Dermatology Associates, Ltd. since its inception over 30 years ago.
At Aesthetica, Dr. Vasily has trained physicians from all over the United States and the world, in the use of various laser surgical techniques. He is actively engaged in the research and development behind many laser and light source devices on the market today that are utilized by other physicians. He has developed and patented a device that reads human skin color, thus allowing for safer dosimetry and fewer complications from laser procedures. He is a sought after lecturer, published author and speaker in the field of cosmetic laser surgery.
Dr. Vasily believes firmly that as a Board Certified specialist in dermatology, he is uniquely qualified to see, evaluate and treat not only skin diseases but cosmetic problems related to the skin and, most importantly, any complications or difficulties that may arise from such treatments. This belief is validated by the fact that Aesthetica serves as a referral center for his own colleagues and for patients who have experienced complications or non-results at other centers.
Over the last few years, the Lehigh Valley has seen a proliferation of “laser centers” and “medi-spas” run by non-core trained physicians, including family physicians, internists, OB/Gyn, anesthesiologists and osteopathic physicians. These “centers” are often engaged in aggressive marketing press and print marketing campaigns to promote their businesses.
